This business is designed to monopolize all the referrals from local clinics. My advice: use the hospital, they have all their own imaging services.

I went there on a Monday morning within the posted hours, only to find all doors locked and nobody inside. No signs posted, and no message on the phone to give anyone a clue as to what is going on. I also watched a number of patients come and go, greatly inconvenienced like myself. Obviously this establishment cares very little for its patients.

My family doctor referred me for both a ultrasound and mammogram due to having a breast lump that seemed to cause enough concern for her to have me referred. I have to say booking into them was awful specially if your like me and not glued to your phone 24/7 its mostly consists of phone tag as there is only a answering machine service due to them being so busy once i did finally get a appointment which the same week that i was thankful for as i thought there would be a long await ahead for me. Nothing was said to me on the phone other than not to wear deodorant and to arrive 15 minutes prior. The day of my appointment i ended up waiting over a hour past my scheduled appointment then once in the ultrasound room the tech then begins to tell me due to my age (being 27) i wont be having my monogram as they usually do not screen anyone under 30 then she also had said they do not offer whole breast ultrasound which again is what my doctor had referred me for however there did do localized areas. I had the ultrasound of my general area during which the tech was more than apparent frustrated as i was not able to pin point the exact spot apart from that her constant sighing was also a reminder. Now to put a long story short my test did indeed turned out to have a lump which both myself and doctor knew was there now i have to wait to get in with her this week just to be likely referred again for a monogram/ultrasound to find out what it is all over again i can say this for sure i will not be referred back to red deer office in a already stressful enough situation you look for reassurance not to be made to feel as though your wasting there time.

The reception, MRI Technologist, and physician were all great and I did receive good care. However I did not feel safe. Two patient identifiers were not confirmed by the receptionist, MRI Technologist, or physician. Being asked at the reception for my health number and if I live on Wishart Street is not two patient identifiers. I appreciated the MRI Technologist taking the time to prepare me for the procedure but just because I followed him from the waiting room is not identity confirmation. I appreciated the physician introducing himself but he did not confirm my identity or the procedure. To say, ‘hi Brian I’m doctor so and so’, is not a safe practice. I lead my identify confirmation with the MRI Technologist to confirm the sample labels were mine. I also lead the safe surgery briefing confirmation with the physician by asking him what we were doing today. It’s just a matter of time that these unsafe practices will lead to a wrong patient or wrong procedure incident to occur. I’m pretty certain that CAMIS accreditation standards include two patient identifiers at each contact point and safe surgery checklist briefing pre-procedure.

I had an amazing experience and first time baby ultrasound today! My technician was so considerate, friendly, and kind, and had made me feel comfortable by explaining the routine. I had read reviews prior coming here and was terrified of having a bad experience, but there was nothing to worry about. Thank you, thank you thank you!
