I adopted a black Siamese cat from here a few years ago. He was quite expensive, at $280. I wish they would not automatically microchip the animals and rather give the adopting owners the option. But overall, my experience was good.

My dog had run away. He was gone less than 20 minutes when they picked him up. I called to ask what the charge was to get him back. They gave me a not so bad amount but never mention anything about a fine that comes with it. They just say wait while we get your animal then the officer comes out and explains the fine. You would think that possibly they would be a little mire up front about that instead of blind siding someone

I had to go back to Petland TWICE to get medication for my adopted cat that they "forgot" to give me. One was for her stiches after being nurtured (Which they said were fine and healing properly and I have monitored) and then as the lady who called me put me it "they CONVIENTLY forgot to give me other medication". Then when I went to get the meds she couldn't even tell me why my cat needed them. Possibly for teeth extracted.... Honestly, I love animals and I'm all in when when I can be but i'd watch my back with these people. I've dealt with them up front, personally and professionally and I'd avoid at any cost. Having dealt with them on a 'professional' (aka helping in need when called ) level i can say that you will be attacked and you will be judged to the fullest. This is my own full personal experience that i can 100% vouche for. Im not slandering, I'm not discriminating, I am providing 100% pure customer and relation feedback

The male kitten I adopted was rescued from a dumpster with his litter mates. They were less than 4 weeks old. The mother cat was no where to be found. Alberta Animal Services bottle fed, housed, and socialized these feral kittens so they could be adopted. Scott my cat was also neutered, de-wormed, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. The manager of Alberta Animal Services hand picked Scott for me based on my needs. Scott is the most cuddly friendly, loyal, intelligent, and gentle cat I have ever met.

So before you haters write bad reviews stating they only want money, or the staff is rushed or grumpy or rude etc. educate yourself; all animals that are sold at the adoption center have been abandoned or surrendered, and in some cases abused or left for dead. The staff are dedicated loving people who work hard at their jobs to ensure these helpless animals are not put down, and are healthy and psychologically fit to become great companions and loved family members for animal lovers. A staff member who seems to be rushed could be having a busy hectic day, haven't you ever had a bad day at your job?

I adopted this lovely cat from Alberta Animal Services. I wanted a kitten that was not standoffish, one that loved to cuddle, and one that was friendly. I have mobility issues and I live alone and my doctor thought it would be good for me to have a pet. She was right I love my cat.

I guess they get a star for showing up. The officer knocked on my door three times despite me specifically asking during the phone call to be called as I didn't want to answer the door with a baby to tend to. I was then given a notice to get my dog registered; I don't normally support needless money grabs. My baby was woken 30 minutes into her nap and now I have a messed up day ahead of me. They didn't even solve my problem anyway. Thanks for NOTHING. I will never call again for anything. Maybe that's their goal? Wishing them a crappy day
