I went in here the other day, and it smelt good and had a warm presence to the store. I was browsing some of the goods, and started noticing the prices, which are really quite premium. So in my head I started thinking that okay I'll definitely give them a try, so I buy some skones, some cinnamon buns, and some sourdough bread. All of which were made that day. I get home slightly happy about spending 25 dollars on these items.. I open up the cinnamon buns, and try one. I was thuroughly disappointed the the cheapness of them. They are dry, over spiced and without cream cheese icing as they had a sugar glaze on instead. Considering it was 7-8 dollars for these 6 small buns. I would expect something much better. Now i move onto the skones. Which all have really interesting flavours, so I cautiously try a bite of one, hoping to not have such disappointment again. Well. The flavour of most of them were decent. Nothing special, and honestly they were the dryest skone I have ever eaten in my life! And I've had some from gas stations before. And this was to my surprise as they were made that day. The only reason they get 2 stars for this review is because the sourdough bread I had bought for 6 dollars, was just ok. It was much more dry than I'd like it to be, but it has decent flavour and was dense enough to ignore the dryness. Overall. Yet another "bread store" that I would personally be ashamed of running in red deer. I wish I had the opportunity to run a bread shop, because bread needs love, and care. Something I personally found cobs bread lacked.
